At high speeds on the freeway you will need extra room for braking. Keep in mind that on dry pavement at 55 mph it takes about 265 feet to bring your vehicle to a complete stop. On wet pavement that distance increases to 289 feet. At 65 mph the stopping distances shoot up to 344 feet on dry pavement and 378 on wet pavement.
