Did you know?
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), teenage drivers and passengers are among those least likely to wear their safety belts.

Do I need to attend a classroom?
No. The course is entirely online. It is web learning on your schedule at your pace.

What is ID Verification?
Some county courts require students to prove their identities. This is known as ID Verification. It is an easy-to-follow process with clear instructions. Not every county court asks for this requirement.

What is the testing and grading policy?
Our course provider says, Each chapter contains a quiz or quizzes that review important content from that chapter. The number of quizzes and quiz questions varies depending on your course. The quizzes do not affect your final exam score but will provide you with an excellent opportunity to master the course material. You also must take and pass a final exam upon completion of the course.

How do I know if I am eligible for traffic school?
Check the paperwork sent to you by the court. It will explain your options for traffic school.

How do airbags work?
Airbags work by preventing your upper body from striking the steering wheel, dashboard and windshield in a head-on collision. Airbags will NOT deploy in most side-collisions, but side airbags are not as common as front airbags. A sensor is activated when the car strikes a solid object. This sensor sends an electric current, initiating a chemical release of non-toxic nitrogen gas that causes the airbag to inflate. The deployment is instantaneous and the airbag will deflate immediately, preventing the risk of suffocation.

Tip for SEALSTON, Virginia
Left hand turns are more dangerous, so plan your travel route to include more right hand turns.

Tip for SEALSTON, Virginia
The injury rate for passenger car occupants per registered vehicle was 1.2 times the injury rate for motorcyclists.

Tip for SEALSTON, Virginia
Since many motorcycles don't have windshields, riders must protect their eyes against insects, dirt, rocks, or other airborne matter. Even the wind can cause the eyes to tear and blur vision, and good vision is imperative when riding. Motorcycle operators should choose good quality goggles, glasses with plastic or safety lenses, or a helmet equipped with a face shield. Goggles, glasses, and face shields should be scratch free, shatterproof, and well-ventilated to prevent fog buildup. Only clear shields should be used at night since tinted shields reduce contrasts and make it more difficult to see. Even if the motorcycle has a windshield, eye protection is recommended.

Tip for SEALSTON, Virginia
Never pass a bus or truck on the right side. This is the side with the largest blind spot. If the larger vehicle needs to move to the right, he or she may not see you in time to avoid a collision.

Tip for SEALSTON, Virginia
Don't tailgate. Try to keep four seconds of following distance between your car and the vehicle in front of you.

Tip for SEALSTON, Virginia
The Virginia Highway Safety Office wants to remind you that seat belts are your best defense during a crash.

Tip for SEALSTON, Virginia
White stop lines are painted across pavement lanes at traffic signs or signals. Where these lines are present, you should stop behind the stop line.

Tip for SEALSTON, Virginia
But the 94.6 percent seat belt usage rate in 2007 means that 5.4 percent of us still don't buckle up. That's a shame because seat belts save lives.
