How do airbags work? Airbags work by preventing your upper body from striking the steering wheel, dashboard and windshield in a head-on collision. Airbags will NOT deploy in most side-collisions, but side airbags are not as common as front airbags. A sensor is activated when the car strikes a solid object. This sensor sends an electric current, initiating a chemical release of non-toxic nitrogen gas that causes the airbag to inflate. The deployment is instantaneous and the airbag will deflate immediately, preventing the risk of suffocation.

How long does the course take? The time it takes varies from person to person. A determined student who studies the material and takes notes can finish fairly quickly. But many students choose to spread the course out over a week or more. Rest assured you can follow whatever method works for your schedule. But give yourself plenty of time to pass the final exam prior to your court deadline!

Tip for NEW BERLIN, New York Single vehicle crashes are the most common type of crash involving teens. Speed, lack of seat belt use, inexperience and alcohol use are contributing factors to fatalities and serious injuries in these crashes.
Tip for NEW BERLIN, New York Texas driving tip: Don't squeeze between trucks and the curb. Trucks make wide right turns, and the driver may not see you.
Tip for NEW BERLIN, New York Drivers of large trucks and buses enjoy a better forward view and have larger side mirrors, but remember they also have more and larger blind spots. Avoid staying in one of their blind spots--if you can't see the driver in his or her side mirror, the driver probably can't see you.
Tip for NEW BERLIN, New York Tailgating is always dangerous, but tailgating a large truck or bus is especially dangerous. Not only does this reduce your ability to see what's happening on the road ahead, but the driver of the truck or bus can't see you. Keep a safe distance when following.
Tip for NEW BERLIN, New York Various traffic control devices are used in construction and maintenance work areas to direct drivers or pedestrians safely through the work zone and to provide for the safety of the highway workers.
Tip for NEW BERLIN, New York Alcohol use by people under the age of 21 is prohibited in Virginia. Virginia has a zero tolerance law regarding teens and alcohol use. Some of the penalties include losing your license, large fines and maybe jail time. The legal limit for teens is a .02 blood alcohol concentration (BAC), which is the normal alcohol content of the average person. So, even a small amount of alcohol can be too much.
Tip for NEW BERLIN, New York Safety belts save lives. That's why Texas is drawing the line for drivers and passengers: buckle up or face a fine!
Tip for NEW BERLIN, New York Winter driving tip from Caltrans: It is also a good idea to take along water, food, warm blankets and extra clothing. A lengthy delay will make you glad you have them.
