Defensive Driving Tips for KENT, New York |
How long is the final exam? The final exam length depends upon the state or region where you received your speeding ticket. Many exams are 25 questions long, but some are longer.
Do I need to wear a seatbelt in Texas? Safety belts save lives. That's why Texas is drawing the line for drivers and passengers: buckle up or face a fine!
How long is the Defensive Driving course? Most people can finish in about 4-6 hours. Some people take longer, but that is a rough guide for most students.
Do I have to finish the course in a certain amount of time? You must finish the Defensive Drivers course before your court deadline. Also give yourself plenty of time for processing by the court.
How do airbags work? Airbags work by preventing your upper body from striking the steering wheel, dashboard and windshield in a head-on collision. Airbags will NOT deploy in most side-collisions, but side airbags are not as common as front airbags. A sensor is activated when the car strikes a solid object. This sensor sends an electric current, initiating a chemical release of non-toxic nitrogen gas that causes the airbag to inflate. The deployment is instantaneous and the airbag will deflate immediately, preventing the risk of suffocation.
I know that all children under age 12 should ride in the back seat, especially if the car is equipped with airbags. What about the elderly; are they safe with airbags? The elderly, like all other passengers and drivers, should be properly restrained with the seat as far back as possible and the individual's back firmly supported. All occupants should also keep arms and feet away from where the airbags will deploy.

Tip for KENT, New York The rear seat is the safest place for children of any age to ride. An infant in a rear-facing child seat must ride in the back seat if your vehicle has a passenger air bag. Make sure that everyone in the front seat is properly buckled up and seated as far back from the air bags as is reasonably possible. Make sure that all young children are properly secured in an age and size appropriate restrains. Know how to properly install your child seat in the vehicle. Read both the owner?s manual for the vehicle and the instructions for your child safety seat.
