What software do I need to take the course? You need a working web browser that is connected to the Internet to take a defensive driving course. We support Internet Explorer 4.0 and higher, Netscape Navigator 6.0, AOL 4.0 and higher and most other browsers. There is no software to download and nothing saved to your hard drive. Some courses use the Macromedia Flash plug-in. This product is free and can be downloaded and installed at registration.
My due date is approaching fast. How far ahead do I need to complete the course? We recommend you complete our course at least 10 business days prior to your due date. That will give you enough to mail your completed certificate to your court. When you receive your certificate from us, you are responsible for mailing it to your court on time.
How long does it take for my certificate to be delivered? Our course provider says that it processes certificates Monday-Friday at 3 PM Pacific Time (5 PM Central Time for Texas users). Users completing after 3 PM will be processed the following business day. We ask you to allow 3-5 business days for delivery. Premium delivery services are available for an additional fee.

Tip for FRENCH CAMP, California Parents and caregivers have a big role in teen driver safety right from the beginning. Take your teen out to practice their skills, set clear ground rules and stick to them, and most importantly, be a good role model. Always buckle up, obey speed limits, and don't drive aggressively.
Tip for FRENCH CAMP, California Nationally in 2006, 4,842 teen passenger vehicle occupants, ages 16 to 20, were killed in motor vehicle crashes, and 58 percent (2,813) were unrestrained at the time of the fatal crash.

Tip for FRENCH CAMP, California Texas motorcycle safety tip: ride at a safe speed and never ride if you've been drinking
Tip for FRENCH CAMP, California Be gentle with brake pressure during slippery road conditions. Avoid braking on curves by driving through them at a safe, steady speed. Gear down for both uphill and downhill.
Tip for FRENCH CAMP, California The Virginia Highway Safety Office wants to remind you that seat belts are your best defense during a crash.
Tip for FRENCH CAMP, California At high speeds on the freeway you will need extra room for braking. Keep in mind that on dry pavement at 55 mph it takes about 265 feet to bring your vehicle to a complete stop. On wet pavement that distance increases to 289 feet. At 65 mph the stopping distances shoot up to 344 feet on dry pavement and 378 on wet pavement. And watch out for large trucks on the freeway, their extra weight means they need ever more distance to stop.
Tip for FRENCH CAMP, California Young, inexperienced drivers, particularly 16- to 17-year-olds, are significantly overrepresented in fatal crashes. Our research tells us that immaturity and inexperience are primary factors contributing to these deadly crashes by young drivers. Three-stage GDL laws address these factors by reducing high-risk exposure for novice drivers.
